Webinar: Rapid Reaction Monitoring of Proteins with Dual-Comb Spectroscopy Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Microsoft (Outlook)
Kinetic analysis in the condensed phase is of outstanding importance to research in chemistry and biology. Processes such as protein folding or secondary and tertiary structure rearrangements happen on time scales of nanoseconds to milliseconds. While infrared analysis has proven its high sensitivity and large information content, it suffers from long measurement times for time-resolved studies.
In this webinar presented by Prof. Joachim Heberle from FU Berlin, dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) as a novel means for time-resolved infrared spectroscopy of biological samples is introduced. High signal quality in short measurement time allows for the observation of (sub-)microsecond processes. The single-shot capability of DCS enables the study of non- or slowly repeatable processes. By this, DCS opens many new possibilities in protein reaction analysis.
