SIBBM 2021 – Frontiers in Molecular Biology

Over the last years, cellular metabolism has been appreciated as crucial component for different biological processes, ranging from transcriptional regulation and epigenetics, to control of stem cell or cancer cell behavior and to how cells respond to stress.

The annual SIBBM Seminar is one of the most successful Italian scientific events with over 200 participants and its aim is to bring together top international and national speakers at the leading-edge of molecular and cellular biology.

For these reasons we have decided that the 2021 SIBBM Seminar  will focus on how cell metabolism impacts on several fundamental biological processes. We will also discuss ongoing efforts to understand and target metabolic networks.

To foster active participation from young scientists, nearly 50% of talks will be selected from submitted abstracts, which can be on any research topic related to molecular biology, and the registration fee is reduced in particular for Ph.D. students.

• “Chiara D’Onofrio” Foundation Junior Award for the best oral presentation by a Ph.D. or young Post-Doc
• “Francesa Martini” prize for the best oncology poster presentation (in collaboration with NAnA onus)

• 2 “The EMBO Journal” voucher prizes to attend EMBL meetings (reserved to Ph.D. students presenting a poster)
• 5 travel grants sponsored by The Journal of Cell Science (apply during the registration procedure)
